FOILING DAY!

I took my own advice!  I pulled out several different Foil Its and decided to turn on the Mini Minc and get to foiling!  I had fun stenciling many of these pretty designs and now they are ready to make into cards!

HOT FOIL

I have been foiling lately - this is a little different type of foiling by Gina K Designs.  You run the acetate design through your hot foil machine.  Then remove the thin clear layer, put down the foil and run it through again.  I really like this because you can apply it to any card stock etc.  I've had these in my stash for a while and never used them - I was impressed with the results!  

ENCOURAGEMENT

I was inspired to make a couple of cards when I visited the Taylored Expressions Studio.  I already had all the supplies so it was easy to put them together.  I foiled the bible verse from the Clipboard Calendar - In the Word 2.  They are individual cards that you can foil or not.  I layered it  with shiny gold card stock.  The background is called Just Vine and is stamped with Versa Fine on Blue Corn card stock.  I colored the leaf with a Copic marker.  

While I had everything out, I made a second card!  I thought I could use these cards for encouragement for someone who is going through a rough time or illness.  

UP FOR A CELEBRATION!

This is a fun new set from Taylored Expressions to celebrate their 17th Birthday!  This balloon set will make lots of birthday cards!  I like this soft color combination.  I started with the Foil It and then stenciled the color onto the design.  After stenciling the ink I ran it through my Minc machine to add the foiled shimmer!  I had a few spots where it over-foiled, and I think it was because the ink was still a bit wet.  I did a test on another foil it that I had inked up but I didn't foil until the next day and I didn't have this issue.  It really didn't bother me, just adds a little more shimmer!

DOODLE FLOWERS

Here's another Taylored Expressions Foil It panel.  This one is a Mini Slim called Doodle Flowers.  I ran them thru my Minc machine to add the foil & colored the images with Copic markers.  It is so hard to see the shine of the foil in the picture but trust me, it is really pretty!  I stamped the sentiments with Onyx Versafine ink.

FOIL IT PANEL

The Taylored Expressions Foil It Panels are so fun to create with.  I started with the pre-printed image on the card panel.  This one is called Wildflowers.  I used Deco Foil Gold and ran it thru my Minc machine.  I added color by ink blending over the flowers and used Copic markers for the green leaves and the purple flowers.  I ink blended the entire background in a soft blue/green color.  The sentiment strip is from Taylored Expressions as well and was foiled.  The foiling adds such an elegant look to your cards.  

ROSE & BLOOMS BOUQUET

A pretty floral is one of my favorite things and this one didn't disappoint!  It is the Intricate Rose & Blooms Bouquet by Simon Says Stamp.  It is a Foil & Cut set - you get the hot foil plate & coordinating die.  I gold foiled the floral image and then die cut it & colored with only 4 Copic markers!  No shading or blending, just good old fashioned coloring!  

I added the Happy Birthday in foil to the bottom of this card.   The background Cover Plate is from Taylored Expressions called Pierced Circles.  

The background Cover Plate is from The Stamp Market called Pierced Plaid.  I'll add a sentiment to this card when I'm ready to send it! 

CONGRATS!

These are cards I bought from Target but I added the Gold foiled sentiments to personalize them a bit.  The Congratulations was hot foiled and the congrats was simple, no heat required foiling.  Both turned out lovely~!

The message inside, I gold heat embossed.  These cards will be ready to go for a few new Happy Homeowners 🏡

CHRISTMAS SHINE

This is a favorite background stamp from Simon Says called Leaves & Berries.  I stamped it on black card stock with VersaMark ink and used gold embossing powder.  I added a bit of color to the berries & the leaves and used a gel pen to add white dots.  The sentiment is a Spellbinders Glimmer Plate called Essential Christmas Greetings.  

Same black background - the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  

For the sentiment, I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil set called Essential Christmas Greetings.

POINSETTIA

I love a poinsettia!  I die cut lots of pieces & parts then did a bit of ink blending to add dimension.  Hero Arts Poinsettia Layering dies make a beautiful flower!  

I used my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Plate for the sentiment.  It is called Essential Christmas Greetings GLP-293.  

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments & coordinating dies.

 

THANKFUL GRATEFUL BLESSED

HAPPY NOVEMBER!  More Fall foiling.  I colored the berries with Copic markers and then did ink blending on the leaves.  I really like the color combination of this one! 

I used the Glimmer machine to foil the sentiment and then die cut it with a circle die.  I also used the Taylored Expressions stitched rectangle to cut out the Foil It panel.  I added a layer of dark brown card stock and attached it to a mini slimline Toffee card base.   

FALL SEASONAL SPRIG

This card design was inspired by Heather Nichols at Taylored Expressions.  She did this VIDEO and used Fall colors for the Taylored Expressions Seasonal Sprig Foil It panels.  I started by running the Foil It panel thru my laminator with gold foil.  I colored the panel with Copic markers.  I used white & brown splatters on the panel.  I really wanted to try to see if I could add the additional foiling with my Glimmer machine.  I did the "hinge" method with the Spellbinders Thankful Grateful Blessed hot foil plate.  I was a bit afraid that the other foiling might be damaged with the additional heat but it turned out beautifully!   

No overfoiling, oh yeah!  👍  I was so excited to see that this worked.

Here is another Fall themed Mini slimline card.  I Copic colored the orange berries and ink blended the leaves with the coordinating stencil.  I added splatter. The thinking of you sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments & matching dies. I added foam tape on the back of the panel & attached it to a Toffee Mini slimline card base.  

FALL SHINE!

This Fall card is all glitter & foil!  I started with the Striped Background hot foiled in silver on black card stock.  The oak leaf (gold glitter) is from Taylored Expressions Stitched leaves & the other frond (copper glitter) is from Studio Light Wonderful Autumn.  The Thanks die was a freebie with a Taylored Expressions order a few years ago.  

HELLO

The view from my desk.  I spent a bit of time in my stamp room yesterday.  It seems during the summer there is always something else to do but I do love to get a few minutes to CREATE on a hot summer day!  Today I was playing with a new set of sentiments & I needed to get to foiling!  

Pink Fresh Studio Perfect Sentiments makes it easy to foil and then die cut all 11 sentiments at one time.  I foiled four of these - 2 on black card stock & 2 on white card stock.  I used silver and gold foil.  I have a ton of die cuts ready to go! 

This card was already made and wanted to add a sentiment with shimmer & shine!  HELLO in gold foil was just the "Perfect sentiment".  

HELLO

FOILING...AGAIN

I was hoping that this foil would be more white but it's still worthy of a card!  ha! 

 I picked up these notecards at Joann's.  This was a quick & simple card but the shimmer of the foiling steps it up a notch!  

 

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS

Gosh, this one turned out so pretty!  I used patterned paper from a 6x6 paper pad and gold foiled directly on the paper.  I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and foam mounted it to a white linen card base.  Super simple but oh that foiling!

SYMPATHY

I had two new Altenew 3D Embossing folders that I wanted to try out.  I used Canson XL watercolor paper for my card fronts.  These folders are stunning!  I had made up several hot foiled word strips to add to the cards.  The stamped With Sympathy sentiment is from Memory Bound.  

So quick and just beautiful - especially if you already have the sentiment strips ready to go!

MORE FOILING

I started with the gold foiled sentiment on the polka dot card stock.  I then added the Taylored Expressions Spring Spray using Onyx Black Versafine ink.  

Can you see that pretty gold foiling?

Here are a few cards that I put together using the Glimmer Hot Foil for the sentiments.  

I wanted to make a few masculine foiled Birthday cards.  This paper pad called 3 Piece Suit from Papertrey Ink worked perfectly for a manly look!  

Here's a card where I used a earthy stripe patterned paper and added the foiled sentiment.  I really like how this one turned out!

LET'S FOIL!

So I did a thing - something I kept saying I wasn't going to do!  I caved and bought the Glimmer Hot Foil System.  It was a bit frustrating in the beginning and I still have plenty of mess ups, but after watching lots of videos and trial and error I'm happy to report that I have some beautifully foiled cards in my stash! 

A big ole mess . . . 

So many rejects...  It takes practice & patience to get this foiling figured out.  And I still have mistakes. The good news is that most of the time, it can be fixed with just erasing the over foiling.

I hot foiled with silver foil the Happy Birthday words on this pretty rainbow stripe and it turned out beautiful!  🌈
