I have been following along with the Simon Says STAMPtember offerings and all the inspiration from the new products. I was inspired by this card by Debby Hughes and watched her video here. This organic type card really caught my eye and I wanted to give it a try. In this case, I thought it was something I could actually do since Debby's watercoloring is next level compared to what I can achieve. I love this Simon Says large leaf die but I realized that I had something similar. I'm so proud of myself when I talk myself out of ordering something & using what I already have in my collection! ha!
This is the die set that I have from Studio Light called Wonderful Autumn. The frond in this set is similar but smaller than the SSS die. I cut it twice and was able to easily trim a few leaves and glue the stems together. If you look super close you can see where I glued them but I was able to cover it will a sentiment in that area. I really love how these cards turned out - I ended up making Mini slimline size cards instead of the larger slimline.
Ok, here we go - my water color panel is taped to the hard board to minimize warping. I have a small palette of watercolor ink to work with. I did a bit of mixing of colors and actually was pleased with the outcome.
Here are my three cards! I used Autumn Blessings for the sentiment on two of the cards and the other is a Birthday greeting.
