IMMENSE JOY

I started out with lots of die cuts. More than this actually...I made 8 cards using this design.

Assembly was pretty easy - I die cut two JOY words out of black card stock & glued them together for a bit of dimension.  I die cut 1 Holly leaf out of green card stock & then ink blended with green ink for the leaves & brown for the stem. For the berries there are 3 different berry dies and I cut them each once & ink blended with a dark red ink.  I tucked the holly branch under the JOY words.  I added thin foam squares to the back of the holly leaves.

Product List:
DIES:  Penny Black Immense Joy Die, Penny Black holly-days Die, Penny Black Semi-Circle Stackers Rectangle Dies, Avery Elle Simple Sentiment Dies
STAMPS:  Penny Black Jolly Snippets, Hero Arts Christmas Messages, Hero Arts Holiday Says (all the stamps used were for the various sentiments)
CARD STOCK:  I used green, red & black (not sure what company for the holly, berries and the JOY), the rectangle layer I used Canson XL watercolor paper, the card bases were a variety of card stock in my stash
INK:  Ink blending on the Holly - Catherine Pooler Green Tea, Distress Tea Dye
Ink blending on the branch part of the holly - Distress Walnut Stain
Ink blending on the Berries - Catherine Pooler Cranberry Fizz
Ink blending for the rectangle background - Memento Rich Cocoa
Onyx Versafine for the stamped sentiments
OTHER:  Taylored Expressions Rectangle Masking Stencil, Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen on the berries

INK SWATCH PROJECT

My recent ink swatching project.  I saw how Carissa Wiley - Sprinkled with Glitter does her ink swatching.  I decided that since I have a big collection of Catherine Pooler inks that I would swatch them in this cool new way.  Stamping with the backside of the Essentials By Ellen Winterscapes solid stamp gives a paint chip effect, reminiscent of a Pantone swatch.  Besides being total eye candy, the other benefit of this style of swatch is that is allows you to put the colors right up next to each other, instead of having white space between them when looking at your palette.
I used the Jennifer McGuire ink swatch template for this project.  It's nice to see all these pretty ink colors when you are trying to find the perfect color!

FULL OF FLOWERS

I pulled out my Catherine Pooler inks and the Taylored Expressions Full of Flowers background stamp set.  I have been wanting to play with the stamps, dies and stencils that all coordinate.  And let me tell ya, I went to town and now I wonder why I waited so long!  I have had this stamp set since last Fall Stamp Joy.
I stamped several backgrounds and then use the coordinating clear stamps to color in the flowers & leaves with various ink colors.  I also stamped & inked up some of the individual flowers & leaves to die cut.
I used the Taylored Expressions Full of Flowers Singles & Dies to create these flowers & leaves that can be added to cards.
And there's more - I also have the stencils that coordinate with the Full of Flowers background stamp.  I figured while I had the mess of ink blending I might as well do several of the backgrounds.  The results with the stencils are just amazing!  I did use Taylored Expression blending brushes for the stenciling.  They turned out so pretty!
One colored background & one stamped in black and I was able to make two quick cards by die cutting out the centers.  I used an Embossing Folder for the embossed floral.  The sentiments are Opposites Attract from The Greetery.
Up close - I added a few white embellishments to the embossed flowers.
You can see the difference between stamping the color and stenciling the color.  It's more precise when you use the stencil.  The stamping technique looks more artsy? but I have to say the stencil is my favorite!
Flat panel and then I added a few die cut flowers for dimension & a Taylored Expressions sentiment strip.
Partial coloring with black & white on top.  The vellum sentiment band is nice so that you can still see the pretty flowers.

I used the Taylored Expressions Top Fold Mini Slimline cards for these cards.  Quick & easy cards especially if you have the colored panels ready to go!
And the last one...  I stamped the background on Kraft card stock with Taylored Expressions Sugar ink pad.  Then stamped the sentiment with Onyx Versafine and added the die cut flowers & leaves around the sentiment.

PAINT STROKES STENCIL

A colorful background using Waffle Flower Paint Strokes stencil.  I used Catherine Pooler inks & the Taylored Expressions ink blending brushes to color the stencil.  I flicked a little bit of white ink on the design & also added shimmer spray (which you can't see in the photo) but oooh...trust me, it's very shimmery!

Maybe you can see the shimmer a bit better in this photo.  So pretty!  I used the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Birthday Sentiments stamps & dies.

Fine Line Florals

Check out this video from Concord & 9th for my card inspiration.  I used Catherine Pooler inks for my card.  The stamp set is from Concord & 9th called Fine Line Florals.
Two cards that I always need ready to go, one birthday & one anniversary.

This is a sentiment strip from the Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background.  I had to wait for the die because it was backordered so I just cut the strips with my paper trimmer (that works too if you don't have the die) but if you have the die, it cuts 18 different banner-style sentiments in one crank.  That is a must-have in my opinion!

Happy Happy Happy

There are a couple of stamp sets that I have been wanting to use.  I decided to pull out my Catherine Pooler inks for a fun variety of colors.  The two stamp sets I used are Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy with Dies & the Concord & 9th Background Blocks.
I really love the look of the happy dies that coordinate with the stamped happy words.
