She's Here!

My friend, Susan recently became a Grandma for the first time so I wanted to send her a little something special.  I found the Brag Book photo album online.  We knew she was going to have a Grand Daughter so this soft floral was a nice choice.  I decided to try to find a floral stamp in my collection that I could stamp & try to come close to the floral on the brag book.  I did my best and tried to color the flowers in similar tones.  I did personalize the inside of the Brag Book with all the birth information.  I chose a few pretty fonts and printed it out on cream card stock.
I used Floral Bliss by Simon Says Stamp, Your Next Stamp Set Whatnot Sentiments Four (congratulations) & Amuse Studio Ahhnouncing (she's here) stamp sets.

Clean & Simple Sunday!

A clean and simple Sunday!  Linda at Amuse Studio has been featuring various stamp sets and I just love the cards she made using the Ahhnouncing Stamp Set.  She used washi tape for an accent.

It all started with a conversation...

Ok, so this whole project started with my husband running into friends of ours a few months ago.  They had not seen each other in a while.  When my husband was asked what I was up to these days he said "she makes cards & sells stuff to make cards".  My husband said the guy sort of crinkled up his nose and said "she does what?"  So I started thinking that I wanted to send our friends a sampler of my card making using all amuse|studio products.  And the biggie for me was the presentation!  So here is what I came up with...
I made the box out of kraft cardstock to fit 4 bar sized note cards.  It was a tutorial from a class that I took online.  I had some lido-colored tissue paper in my stash so I stamped the venetian background in titian ink.  This was a beautiful inlay over top of the note cards.  It really looked classy & professional!  I also used the 1.5" maple tag and stamped Handmade on it from the hand stamped stamp set & attached it with toffee twine.
Now for the cards...Eight note cards fit in the box nicely & I decided on a color palette of titian & lido.  It made it easier for me when designing the cards to stick with a couple of colors.

Happy Birthday

I needed a quick & simple guy birthday card.  I love using amuse|studio's Woodgrain Impression Plate.  It is the perfect texture for any card base.  I also used our new Vintage Labels 1 Die Set paired with the ahhnouncing stamp set.

ahhnouncing...

This is the card I made for a card swap I did with other amuse|studio Creative Consultants.  We were asked to use a stamp set from the 2012 Catalog.  I always struggle to come up with good guy cards and I'm excited that this stamp set called ahhnouncing by amuse|studio is perfect for those occasions!  I have several male birthdays during the month of March.

stamps:  ahhnouncing, mod background 2
cardstock:  sugar, slate, lido, onyx
ink:  lido, onyx versafine
other:  onyx baker's twine

ahhnouncing...

I had fun playing with the new stamp set by amuse|studio called ahhnouncing!  I started with a kraft cardbase & added layers of vanilla cardstock stamped with the script background using toffee ink. I used the sponge daubers for inking with french roast & toffee inks.  I also added the scalloped border of french roast woodgrain.  The French Roast twill works well with these colors.

stamps: script background, ahhnouncing
ink: french roast, toffee
cardstock: vanilla, kraft,
french roast woodgrain
other: french roast twill, scallop border die
